Candyman

Candyman is one of those movies that I had put off for years and years because I just didn't think it would be any good and then I was in for a pleasant surprise.
I remember in elementary school the kids on the playground talking about it..and actually believing it was a true story..they also believed that Friday the 13th and Nightmare on elm street were real...How I miss the days of childhood imaginations..
In first,second and third grade I didn't watch horror movies so I had no idea what they were talking about but years later when I did watch these movies I had a good laugh :).

Candyman came out in 1992 and is an American horror film directed by Bernard Rose and written and produced by Clive Barker.
and staring Virgina Madsen,and Tony Todd ( The crow )

The plot follows a graduate student Helen who is doing a thesis on Urban Legends she comes across the story of the Candyman and as you can guess it gets her into a lot of trouble...

Candyman is an artist and son of a slave who fell in love with a white girl whos daddy didn't like that very much and had him murdered  they cut off his hand and replaced if with a hook and then threw a hive of bees at him and he was stung to death while they laughed and called him candyman.
Candyman is a vengeful spirit..
Candyman works kind of like the Bloody Mary Urban Legend ..but instead of saying Blood Mary when you look into the mirror you say Candyman candyman Candyman candyman Candyman and then if you are brave enough you turn out the lights..

Helen sees the candyman in a garage and blacks out when she wakes up she finds herself covered in blood and hers a woman screaming ..she finds the head of a dog laying next to her and apparently on top of that theres a missing baby so now people think she is a crazy killer
after getting out of jail and going home she gets another visit from the Candyman and her friend Bernadette comes to visit her..bad luck on her part and on Helens because she gets killed and it looks like Helen struck again this time she finds her husband turning his back on her and she finds herself in a mental hospital ..
Her husband is a cheating sob anyways and in the end he gets his

Its really one of those movies that you just need to watch its really good and the music is beautiful and haunting.


there are 2 sequels I have watched the second and didn't really like it and never watched the third

I honestly never feel bad when a character in a horror movie dies but Helen exeption
I actually get teary eyed ..I mean everything goes bad for ..people think she is a killer
her husband is cheating on her with one of his students and when she really needs him the most he isn't there for her.. her best friend dies..and she gets burnt to death trying to save a baby that people think she killed..She has a big heart!

atleast in the end she kills her husband and leaves his bitch ass girl friend screaming.
