Prom Night

Prom Night is a 1980 Canadian slasher film and it stars Leslie Nielsen and Jamie Lee Curtis ( that's a good sign )
This movie has to be one of my favorites I love everything about it
The cover art and the music ..I love the music it has some of the best music ever from disco to a really sad and beautiful song at the end.
The album for this movie is really rare and hard to come by the soundtrack hasn't been released on cd..
The disco dancing at the prom is amazing I find myself being drawn in completely.



Im having trouble figuring out how to write this one without giving away the whole plot but...


The movie starts out with 3 kids Robin Alex and Kim walking home from school
Kim forgot her school book and has to go back for it and Alex goes home and Robin wants to join Wendy,Jude,Kelly,Nick,who are playing a creepy little game in an abandoned building the game is sort of like hide and go seek or tag but they shout killer killer killer over and over
So Robin goes up to play with those kids and the kids take the game a little to far
they start chanting and coming at her and it scares her and she goes out the window..and being kids they are retarded and scared and think they are going to go to jail so they decide not to go get help or say anything about it but to just keep quiet about it forever and ever..but someone saw them

and 6 years later at the prom they are in deep shit
these kids start getting cut up and the cops suspect the guy they wrongly arrested 6 years ago because he has escaped taking a nurse with him ( sounds like Halloween )
Kelly,Jude,and Wendy start getting threating phone calls my husband told me that the voice sounds like the ring wraith from Lord of the rings.

Kim doesn't know that Nick had something to do with her sisters death and she is now dating him

Before Nick was dating Kim he had been dating Wendy and it didn't work about because she is a a bit of a bitch and now she is pissed off and planning a malicious revenge at prom by getting the high school bad boy Lou involved ..Lou has a unibrow and smokes in school ..damn he is cool!


So Prom night starts and they all start getting cut up one by one
the kill count is a low 8 a couple of the kills aren't the main killers

At the end of the movie Kim is fighting with the killer as he tries to kill Nick she grabs the axe and hits him over the head ..the killer looks like his heart is breaking Kim looks into his eyes and realizes who it is ..her brother Alex who witnessed the crime years ago and has been plotting revenge why he didn't say anything I don't know apparently keeping silent and waiting 6 years is better.

Alex stumbles outside as all the cops get there and Kim tells them not to shoot she takes off his mask and he is bleeding she holds him in her arms as he dies...and if that wasn't enough a really sad song starts playing.

 

 

Anyways its one of my favorites I think its beautiful! give it a watch!
