Black Christmas

The leaves have started falling from the trees reminding me that summer is over and fall is here and its time to start my horror movie marathon..a bit early maybe I think most people start in October but I have so many I want to talk about that I thought I should start now :)


Im starting with one of my absolute favorite horror movies of all time "Black Christmas"

Black Christmas was made in 1974 and is a independent Canadian film
the 70s was a great time for movies almost all of my favorites are from that time
the horror movies were different from what we have now hell..all the movies were different from what we have now..they had it all great acting a great look and a real plot ..the movies we have now all have a cheap made for tv look about them with horrible actors that don't know what they are doing half the time and the actors themselves are nothing but cheap trash ( yeah I said it ) it might sound mean but I love watching older movies where actors were classy..ok enough of my rant ..because really I could go on and on about how much I hate new movies and new actors.

The movie stars Olivia Hussey,Margot Kidder,John Saxon ( that guy who is always the dad or the cop in horror movies )
The setting is in a sorority house in Canada
the girls have been receiving menacing phone calls
the killer is lurking upstairs in the attic and kills them off one by one
( like the urban legend The Babysitter and the man upstairs )
Black Christmas is considered to be the first slasher film and its the reason why we have Halloween and When a Stranger calls and many other good ones.
The movie has several funny lines and a few disturbing moments..I think if I had watched this is the beginning of my horror movie love affair I would have been scared but Im pretty desentized
My favorite character in the movie is played by Margot Kidder and she has all the funny lines.
Everything about this movie is good the music and the overall creepiness.
Imdb rates it a 7.1 but I think I would give it a 9 or a 10

" Did you know, this is a very little known fact, but... did you know that there's a certain species of turtle that... there's a certain species of turtle that can screw for three days without stopping. You don't believe me, do you? Well, I mean, how could I make something like that up?

No, really! They just... three days, 24 hours a day, wha-voom! Wha-voom! Wha-voom! Can you believe that, three days? I'm lucky if I get three minutes! Do you know how I know this? Because I went down to the zoo and I watched them. It was very boring. Well actually, um, I, uh, didn't stay for the whole three days, I went over and I watched the zebras, because they only take thirty seconds! Premature ejaculation! "





Little baby bunting/Daddy's went a-hunting/Gonna fetch a rabbit skin to wrap his baby Agnes in.

SPOILER ALERT
Theres always an end girl or atleast almost always
in the end all the girls are picked off except Olivia Hussey
I wish Margot kidder could have made it to the end but the drunken whorish types never do
she got stab with a glass unicorn
Olivia Hussey thinks her boyfriend is the killer and when he comes in to save her or talk to her she kills him and then the cops get there..but at the end credits we learn its not the boyfriend ( that is if you even suspected the boyfriend ) because the phone starts ringing again and Olivia Hussey is left alone is the house as the cops rushed the dad of one of the girls to the hospital because he passed out so we are left wondering if the main character dies at the end.
We never learn who the killer is but you can make up plenty of story for him in your head
He is obviously a deranged psycho who a history of family problems from what I gathered from his rants about baby Agnes.

Ill just say one more thing they remade this movie in 2006 and it was horrible the killer is an inbred greenish mutant monster who had sex with his mom and made a baby with her..and it stars Harriet the spy..so stay away from that movie.
